Thursday, 24 January – Saturday, 2 March 2013 Time and Place: Please join us for the Booker-Lowe presents a two-part exhibition including contemporary and colorful paintings from Australia's remote western coastal community of Bidyadanga, as well as works on canvas and paper based on imagery in ancient Australian rock art. Archaeologist David Lee has worked closely with Aboriginal elders to document important rock art sites in the Northern Territory of Australia. David joins us during his week-long stay in Houston as part of the Archaeology Institute of America/Houston chapter's series, "It's About Time . . . ." Booker-Lowe is the leading American gallery for contemporary Aboriginal fine art from Australia. We're open Wednesday-Saturday, 11 am – 5 pm, and by appointment at your convenience. We stock hundreds of paintings and original prints from under $250 to $25,000, and can source Aboriginal artworks for those with special requirements. |
